At Bloopydurians, we are a durian farm that welcome visitors from all over the world to sample durians in a real durian farm nestled in the small town of Bentong, Pahang.

Bentong and its surrounding region which includes Raub is famous for durians especially the Musang King variety.
Years ago, I handled only durians and the wholesale and retail. Little did I know that opening up a durian farm would be such a life changing experience.
When you open up your durian farm to visitors the additional income does help the farm. However, what I discovered was that there are actually people who have never visited a durian farm and would love to visit one!
My first visitors to my farm after I posted my farm online was from Singapore. Four Singaporean man who were on a vacation to Malaysia. They came, they eat and they took pictures. From there onwards, I have many many visitors from all over the world.
Sometimes I wonder how did they ever find me?
Then the answer became clear....
If you put something online, there will always be a small group of people who are interested in what you have to offer.
For me it was DURIAN + DURIAN FARM
I discovered that people not only want to eat durians at a shop, but they wanted to eat durians in a real durian farm and they would be willing to travel all the way from wherever they are to eat durians in a real durian farm.
So far I have visitors from countries and places such as:
Singapore
Indonesia
Japan
Korea
China
Macau
Hong Kong
New York
Texas
California
Ireland
Canada
Italy
Germany
Australia
Russia
Kazakhstan
Dubai
and many more places
I always wanted an international business and thought that I had to go out of Malaysia to do it. Little did I know that international business I did get, but with a twist!
Now travellers and visitors from all over the world come to me. All because of this fruit called durian. A smile always come across my face and my thoughts when I see international tourists stepping into my farm.
A WhatsApp Message From Yuji
At my website I do leave my phone number and whatsapp. That's how my visitors find me. Nearing durian season or during durian season, I sometimes receive 15-30 calls and messages a day. Perhaps even more...I lost count.
With each person perhaps bringing 3-50 people who are interested in coming to a durian farm, you can see that a small farm like mine has the volume of people who really wants to experience a real Malaysian durian farm.
That is even a surprise to me!
At my farm I do have a simple farmhouse.
It is a two storey rectangular brick house with a studio unit at the top. Everything is basic and it was built for my own pleasure. I fitted it with a modern bathrooms and air cons.
I wanted to stay at the farm during season with my wife and experience the durian life during durian season. We stayed there for a season and it was indeed a very wonderful experience.
But as Malaysians, we still prefer to live somewhere near the town so the next season we seldom move there to stay. My wife preferred me to go inside to collect durians and take care of the farm myself haha.
Then the farmhouse was seldom used, so I had a solution. Instead of wasting it, why not open it up for visitors?
Perhaps someone would be interested to stay in a durian farm. It was a long shot but I thought, what did I have to lose.
Then came a Whatsapp message from Yuji asking me about staying at the farmhouse with his family.
I was a bit surprised at first. I thought that families like to stay in nice places that have lots of attractions for kids and stuff for kids to do.
But it turns out that Yuji and his family like nature and durians and wanted to experience what it feels like to stay at a local durian farm.
A Great Experience For Them, A Lasting Memory For Me
Yuji and his family actually did not have a car. They took a grab and arrived near my farm. They had to cross the river to come because I was busy attending to some preparation for a group of about 60 Singaporean visitors who will be eating at my durian farm in the afternoon.
When Yuji first arrived at the farm, he texted me to say that the place was "beautiful". Being a local Malaysian accustomed to durian farm, I thought that a durian farm is so normal. But what is normal to me is beautiful to someone else.
When my Singaporean visitors came, Yuji and his family joined my other guests to eat durians. I think it must have been a wonderful experience for them to eat durians with so many people in a durian farm.
They also ate the buffet and traditional Malay kuih and other fruits that we prepared. I think it was good exposure for them to experience our Malaysian cuisine like Mee Hun, Curry Chicken and the kuih kuih that we all love.
After the event with my Singaporean visitors, I had to rush down to KL to do an event with DRB HICOM. They were having a durian party with their CEO and staff in DRB HICOM hq in KL at Glenmarie Golf & Country Club.

I wish I had more time to spend with this special Japanese family. But I had to go to KL. I thought perhaps later that night I will go back in to spend some time with them. By the time I got back it was perhaps around 8pm.
After that around 10 pm I wanted to go in but on the way in it started to rain and my wife and I and some of her friends had to turn back home. Anyway, it was quite late so it was better to let my guest rest.
The next morning, Yuji told me that he wanted to eat durians again before leaving. So I went in and spend some time with them.
I could see that the family really love nature. Even the Japanese kids like going around the farm. They spend time with the chickens, ducks and goose.

It's very rare nowadays to see children so into nature. I manage to capture a picture of Yuji's eldest son being such a brave boy to hold a lizard in his hand. The other two children in the background are so into the puddle of water.

I hoped that I had been a good host. They certainly look happy to have a nice experience in a real durian farm. After that they were heading to Frazer's Hill.
But before they left, I manage to take a picture with them. Here I am sharing this experience with all of you.
Perhaps I shall leave you with this thought.
"The world is a big place. What is normal to you may be something new and special to someone else. If you are willing to share a part of your life, it will open new doors to many wonderful memories and experiences".
I hope to have many more nature loving durian farm lover stay in my farm. If you are interested to have a once in a lifetime experience, why not come and stay with us?
